Types of professional materials

Different types of professional materials (symposium, thematic/paper presentation, poster) may be submitted to the conference. Professional materials can only be submitted electronically after registration, on the designated page (Managing Professional Materials). Submitting professional materials – irrespective of their type and number of authors – will only be successful (and they will only be reviewed) if all the authors register on the conference website (Registration). A participant can be indicated as first author not more than two times, additionally, he/she can act as the Chair of one symposium, as well as the Discussant in one symposium. A symposium, a thematic/paper presentation or a poster can have maximum five authors.

Symposium

The Chair of the symposium is responsible for its organisation, moderation, as well as inviting a Discussant. A symposium consists of a 100-minute conference session organised by the submitters, it includes 4 or 5 papers per session plus a Discussant, who may evaluate the symposium and raises questions that help to promote discussion and reflection. The Chair is responsible for submitting the symposium summary and abstracts for all papers linked to it. The Chair is the only one to receive the reviewers’ assessment, and must inform all contributors about the evaluation.

Thematic/paper presentation

Thematic (or paper) presentations are scheduled in 100-minute sessions organised by the Scientific Programme Committee and will normally include 4 papers on similar themes. Paper presentations last 15 – 20 minutes, plus some time for questions and discussion and are moderated by a Chairperson assigned by the Scientific Programme Committee.

Poster

Authors present their posters in a General Poster Session which lasts 105 minutes and is organised by the Scientific Programme Committee. Posters must be printed in maximum A0 (841x1189 mm) or A1 size (594x841 mm) in portrait/upright format. Poster presenters will be expected to give a brief introduction (6 minutes maximum) to their poster and to answer questions. The Poster sessions are managed by a Chairperson assigned by the Scientific Programme Committee.
